The LARK Community
The Lark Center is dedicated to providing education and support not only to individuals, but also to schools, daycares, doctors, libraries and other community organizations. We have a wide range of connections with area SEPACS, small businesses, and other like-minded neurodiversity-affirming providers. If an organization you are connected with could use additional support on their journey to becoming more inclusive and affirming in their approach, feel free to send them our way.
If you are interested in joining our caregiver support network to meet others on a similar journey, please email contact@thelarkcenter.com
FAQs
-
The first step is to get in touch! You can click the “get started” button to send us an electronic referral form, email us at contact@thelarkcenter.com, or call us at 508-233-2293. We will then offer you an intake appointment, and get your child or young adult scheduled into the services that are most appropriate.
-
Every new client starts with an intake appointment, which costs $250 and generates a summary report, treatment plan, and recommendations. Based on the specific plan that is recommended for the client, costs can range from $100-$200 per session.
-
The Lark Center utilizes a model that is based on the newest research into best practices, especially when working to support neurodivergent clients. Insurance has not caught up yet, and thus does not consistently reimburse. All services at this time are private pay. Our office is happy to provide monthly superbills to any family wishing to pursue reimbursement through their insurance plan.
-
The Lark Center is dedicated to working with families to identify sources of funding, creating customized payment plans, and offering discounts based on demonstrated need. Many of our clients are funded through their school district, DDS, private grants, or a combination of sources. There are also charity organizations that can help fund therapy.

Most individual therapy sessions are weekly for 45 minutes, although everyone’s plan is specific to their unique strengths and support needs. Most social groups are weekly for 60 minutes, although there are some options for longer playgroups.
-
One of the benefits of being private pay is that we offer very short waitlists and fast turnaround times. We are typically able to schedule intake appointments within 3 weeks of referral. After the intake we are usually able to place clients in their desired service within 1-2 weeks.

No. The Lark Center is proudly neurodiversity-affirming, which means listening to the autistic community and respecting the wishes of the overwhelming majority of autistic adults who avow that compliance-based methodology (ABA) is harmful for autistic children. There are so many possible underlying reasons for behavior - and behavior is only a result, a response, communication. If you address only the behavior, you are likely neglecting the person’s internal experience, removing their internal motivation to learn, and teaching them to ignore their body’s signals and needs. The Lark Center supports autistic individuals by identifying their unique strengths, interests, and support needs, and prioritizing safety and sense of self. For more information about the importance of neurodiversity-affirming care, visit our resources page.

The Lark Center charges a cancelation fee for a missed session (no matter the reason) in order to hold that therapy spot. The fee is either $30 for 48 hours or more advanced notice, $60 for less than 48 hours notice, or full session fee for a no-show or late cancel (within the hour). This is to protect the clinician’s time.
